Speeding Up Opera can be as simple as changing your DNS

Speeding up Opera……. …

Recently I have had major problems with Opera hanging just before page finished loading, not loading at all, and slow finding and displaying pages. Besides other tweeks the tweek that gave me the best results, ie: stopped the hanging, and faster display of pages, was changing my DNS servers. Instead of using the default in my Router, of the auto-discovered DNS servers (which are usually your ISP's), i changed both my Primary and Secondary DNS servers to Googles Public DNS servers. The improvement is phenominal. Google Public DNS is a free, global Domain Name System (DNS) resolution service, that you can use as an alternative to your current DNS provider. It is so easy to set up too. Just access your router admin pages and either replace the ones from your ISP with IP's 8.8.4.4 and 8.8.8.8 or change from autodiscovered DNS to Use User configured DNS, and enter 8.8.4.4 and 8.8.8.8. Save reboot and WoW! speed increases substantially. (Don't forget to record your old settings in case it doesn't work for you and you want to go back to originals.)

More info at Googles Site at: http://code.google.com/speed/public-dns/docs/using.html

It worked for Me!
