The past four days of downpours have caused flooding in Nakhon Si Thammarat, Narathiwat and Yala. It is possible that evacuation in some areas may have to take place. Strong sea waves slammed two seaside villages in Laem Talum Phuk, destroying at least 10 houses in the Pak Phanang district. Many coconut trees were brought down and waves left piles of rubbish and seaweed brought in from the sea on the road.
The Muang district of Nakhon Si Thammarat has also been inundated by the flash floods.
In Narathiwat, 13 districts have been flooded with up to 40cm of water in some places.
In Muang Song Ton, floodwater reached 70cm at the Ratpradit School with classes being suspended.
In Yala, parts of Muang and Raman districts have been flooded.
The worst flooding in three years is expected in Nakhon Si Thammarat Province.
